Bio
Michael Truesdell Anthony (they/them) is an award-winning producer and artist known for creating films, installations, and live events that challenge traditional narratives, both in story and in practice. Their experience producing began with dynamic live performances that combined creativity and community engagement. After earning an MFA in Film from California College of the Arts, Michael focused on producing long-form narrative and documentary films that resonate with queer, marginalized, and neurodiverse audiences.
Michael’s history of community organizing informs their practices, and as the founder of a transgender support organization in Michigan, they know how to rally when all odds are unfavorable. Michael has consistently used their producing skills to amplify historically marginalized voices, ensuring that their projects not only entertain, but also advocate for meaningful change.
Whether producing or making art, Michael creates spaces where queer and socially conscious stories are told with honesty and agency. Outside of work, Michael enjoys hiking with their spouse, making experimental video art, and baking cupcakes.
